- This page provides visualizations of monthly mean temperature and precipitation from the NOAA Climate Divisional Database (time series) and Monthly U.S. Climate Gridded Dataset (maps) spanning 1895–present. Use the dropdown menus below the chart to plot values for different areas (states, climate regions, or contiguous U.S.), variables (temperature, precipitation, and anomalies), and annual time periods (specific months, seasons, or calendar or water-year means). The map can also be clicked to update the chart for states or regions. Temperature and precipitation anomalies are based in reference to 1901–2000 climatology. Use the image slider or move the cursor over data points on the chart to update the map image.
